A new addition to the Skrocki family…

ellie-lola …we adopted a greyhound this weekend. The application, interview, and search process was a bit drawn out, but it paid off. Lola is now an official member of the Skrocki family.

Her tale (not tail) is a bit sad…she’s 2 years old and has lived her entire life in a kennel for racing greyhounds. She’s under weight, had worms, ear mites, sores/calluses on her joints from being cooped up in a kennel since she was a puppy, and has a severely dampened spirit. It’s very sad, but all fixable! And despite it all she smiles a lot and loves people.

Ellie (the pointer, beagle, dalmation mix that we adopted last year) loves Lola. Ellie’s pre-adopted mug shot from when she was in the Boulder Humane Society (BHS) is posted above…I fell in love with her based on this photo. The BHS does such a great job of adopting out homeless animals that they ship them in from other states…Ellie came from Mississippi.

If you’re thinking about getting a pet, check out your local animal shelter’s website.

Awwww. She looks so cute! I wish I could see a bigger picture. It’s great that you adopted… there are so many great dogs out there. Down with puppy farms!

Do you have anymore pictures of your pointer, beagle, dalmation mix? We have a dog that we think has some beagle in him, but he doesn’t really look like a beagle. He acts like one, and he looks just like that black and white dog in the picture. His name is Ace. Go to my website url and you can see him. Thank you so much.
