In contrast to today’s blizzard in Colorado, yesterday was warm and sunny…perfect for the 9 mile walk around Barr Lake. Barr Lake is known for it’s wildlife refuge that is the birth place of ~19 bald eagles since 1998. Following are a few snaps I took yesterday:
In the photo below, you can see a bald eagles nest to the left. The nest is about 4 feet across. This nest is likely the highly observed abode of this years eaglets. On the right side of this photo is a crane…a ~15 pound bird with a wing span of ~7 feet.

Who knew that one day I’d be stalking birds and appreciating the beauty of a weed…I must be getting old. 😉
